Amsterdam is a charming city, like from
fairytales. Everything around is beautiful and clean, with a lot of history and
contrasts. I loved the kindness of the people and their love for animals; you
can see pets inside the restaurants without any problem.
Ámsterdam es una ciudad encantadora como de
cuento de hadas. Todo alrededor es hermoso y limpio, con mucha historia y
contrastes. Yo amé la amabilidad de la gente y su amor por los animales; puedes
ver mascotas dentro de los restaurantes sin ningún problema.
But let’s get to the point: in Amsterdam you
can’t miss their famous French fries with mayonnaise; you also can try any of
many other interesting topping choices (I chose the curry sauce, highly
recommended). Another interesting and traditional Dutch dish is the Bitterballen which is like fried balls
made of meat or cheese with a very strong flavour. It’s usually eaten with
mustard while enjoying some beers. Of course you must try the cheese and beers
too.
Pero vamos al punto: en Ámsterdam no te
puedes perder sus famosas papas fritas con mayonesa; también puedes probar
cualquiera de las muchas otras interesantes opciones de salsas (yo escogí la
salsa de curry, altamente recomendada). Otro interesante y tradicional plato
Holandés es el Bitterballen (Bolas
amargas) que son como unas bolitas fritas hechas de carne o queso y con un
sabor muy fuerte. Usualmente se comen con mostaza y disfrutando unas birras.
Claro que además deben degustar el queso y las cervezas.
