Trolly, Caracas.

El Trolly es una asombrosa lunchería que ha estado en el mismo lugar desde 1963. Es maravilloso entrar en este restaurante y sentirse como en volver al futuro, o en este caso volver al pasado; es una sensación increíble que yo realmente amo. La primera vez que fui me recordó a la serie de televisión llamada Eerie Indiana. Ellos tienen un gran menú con mucha comida deliciosa pero yo recomiendo cualquiera de las arepas (comida tradicional de Venezuela). Una de las mejores cosas en este lugar es que parece que le rindieran tributo/homenaje a la tocineta y eso es impresionante, casi todo tiene tocineta y si no ellos ponen una pequeña tocineta de adorno sobre tu comida. Otra cosa importante es disfrutar de sus merengadas que de seguro amarás, es muy gracioso porque sus merengadas tienen nombres de personalidades famosas en el menú como: Yoko Ono (Helado de chocolate + cambur), John Lennon (Helado de mantecado + cambur) o Nancy Ramos (Helado de fresa + fresas). El restaurante abre en la noche y creo que permanece abierto hasta la mañana, y si quieres puedes comer en tu carro porque tienen servicio de atención en el auto. El precio, como siempre en este país, no es para nada barato pero en este caso vale la pena pagar por ello porque estas pagando por comer en 1963.

El Trolly is an amazing diner that has been at the same place since 1963. It’s wonderful to get into this restaurant and feel like in back to the future or in this case back to the past… it’s an incredible sensation that I really love. The first time I went it reminded me of the TV show called Eerie Indiana. They have a big menu with a lot of tasty food to eat but I really suggest any arepa (traditional food from Venezuela). One of the best things in this place is that they seem to pay tribute/homage to bacon and that is awesome, almost everything has bacon, and if not they put a little piece on top your meal for garnish. Another important thing is to enjoy their shakes that for sure you will love, it’s very funny because the shakes have famous personalities names on the menu like: Yoko Ono (Chocolate ice cream + banana), John Lennon (Vanilla ice cream + banana) or Nancy Ramos (Strawberry ice cream + strawberries). The restaurant is open at night and I think it’s open until early morning, and if you want you can eat in your car because they have drive in service. The price, like always in this country, is not cheap at all but in this case worth the effort because you pay for eating in 1963.
